EXHIBITION
EXHIBITION
Since independence in 1965, Singapore has defined itself as a multicultural society made up of Chinese, Malay, Indian, Eurasian, and other communities. Through five chapters, this exhibition explores how these influences have blended into a shared identity—one rich in heritage and creativity that is sometimes referred to as the ‘rojak spirit’—an unmistakable embracing of differences to create something unique.
SingaPop! brings to life the evolution of Singapore’s everyday culture—from hawker centres to music, film, fashion, Singlish and annual National Day Parades. What began humbly now represents us on the global stage.
As a joyful celebration of life, the exhibition asks visitors to reflect on what makes Singapore so unique. The answer is simple: the people, stories, and traditions that bind us and continuing to shape the place we call home.
This exhibition is presented by ArtScience Museum and mm2 Entertainment, and supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

RojakLand is the vibrant heart of the exhibition, celebrating 60 years of Singapore’s ever-evolving pop culture. Akin to Singapore’s beloved rojak dish, this chapter is a colourful mix of influences, cultures and expressions that shape the unique identity of Singapore.
Wander through seven themed spaces that spotlight the essence of Singapore life—showcasing fashion styles, National Day parades, music, television and movies, Singlish (Singapore’s colloquial language) and hawker culture. Visitors are invited to become active participants in the evolving story of Singapore through interactive and hands-on activities—each experience offers a connection with sights, sounds and stories that define Singapore pop culture.
Whether visitors are discovering Singapore for the first time or reliving fond memories, RojakLand offers a fun, interactive way to experience the everyday expressions and shared moments that make this country so distinctive.
