Whenever I’m in Paris for Fashion Week, the city never fails to take my breath away. It is not called the City of Lights for nothing. The undisputed fashion capital is both a source of inspiration and envy, and it is this dichotomy that propels the designers who show in this fabulous city onward and upward. Which brings me to the new fashion season.
Paris Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2016 shows were charged with a new relaxed sensibility, seen in the oversized couture sportswear at Balenciaga, helmed by the visionary Demna Gvasalia, and in homage to Monsieur Saint Laurent in Hedi Slimane’s swansong collection for the French brand.
